I have got a wonderful new agent - Kate Weston!
Kate works at Janet Fillingham Associates, specialising in musical theatre writers. There are just a handful of agents specialising in musical theatre and I had set my sights on trying to get representation from one of these. Strangely everything seemed to fall into place with Kate. We first met at the MMD talk, where I interviewed her and Nick Quinn and I just seemed to bump into her everywhere after that - which I thought was a very good sign.

Janet Fillingham Associates is described as a boutique agency, their client list is small, but they are devoted to their clients, as I have already discovered. JFA was set up in 1992 and mainly focused on broadcasting and film for writers and directors. They work primarily in the UK, but their clients are also involved in a whole spectrum of projects overseas whether tv co-productions or feature films, both in the studio and independent sectors. Janet Fillingham is principal agent in these areas.
They recently expanded to include theatre and live performance as well as representing librettists, lyricists and composers in musical theatre. Kate Weston joined JFA as an agent in 2010 and is working in these areas.
