ACE APPEAL
I HAVE APPEALED.
I realise that I am not alone. Lots of theatre companies have had their Arts Council grants slashed. After reading about the meeting with Peter Hewitt from ACE, at the Young Vic, where all the top names in the business stood up for the under dogs who had had their grants slashed I decided to appeal. The letter from ACE did not give me the right, as an individual, to appeal, but I thought it was worth a try so I wrote to them last week. I had been told to get my rehearsal space booked and a date for the showcase at the Oxford Playhouse booked, and I had done this. Everything was ready to roll. The grant was a priority for us!
